Softball team wins again to stay unbeaten |
The Del Norte High girls softball team started slow in the cold weather but erupted for 3 runs in the fifth inning to break a tie, then went on to defeat Brookings-Harbor 6-3 on Friday. Chandler Davis hit a 2-run single and “pitched a great game” for the Warriors, said head coach Tom Moore. “She throws hard and she’s pretty accurate.” Keirstyn Anderson added a 2-run single of her own in the pivotal fifth inning on a line drive that the Brookings shortstop couldn’t handle. Earlier, Anderson hit a line drive that was caught by the third baseman. The victory pushed the Warriors to 3-0 on the season, and they are scheduled to go right back into action today at 11 a.m. at Fortuna in a league opener. The baseball team is also scheduled to play today in Fortuna. |
