Track heptathlon wrapped up Monday
The Del Norte boys and girls track teams finished up the first ever heptatholon fundraiser on Monday.
The event, originally scheduled for Thursday and Friday, had to be pushed back to Friday and Monday due to rain. Despite the schedule changes, the event provided good experience for the team.
“Kids got to experience what it was like running an event, they got to see what it is like to move from one event to the next and they got a mark in some events as well,” said Del Norte head coach Samuel Escobar.
The Warriors are still working on tallying up scores from the event and are unsure how much was raised yet, but Escobar said the team raised enough that they will most likely hold the heptatholon again next season.
