Strong SB performances by Bergquist and Lesina

Del Norte High softball players Alyssa Bergquist and Lauryn Lesina had another weekend of outstanding performances as members of the Southern Oregon Coast Softball 18-and-under A team. The team went 2-3 at the City of Roses tournament in Portland, Ore., last weekend, according to The World newspaper of Coos Bay, Ore., where the team is based. In a game against a squad from Vancouver, Wash., Bergquist pitched a three-hitter. The SOCS lost the game 2-0, and had only three hits for the game. In her second pitching performance, Bergquist pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts against the East County Thunder. The SOCS won the game 2-0. Lesina scored a run and also had a sacrifice fly. In a 6-1 loss to the Hillsboro Thunder, Lesina had a home run. In a 4-1 loss to the Ashland Bandits, Lesina had one run. |
