Tennis team plays final home match

In the final home match of the year for the Del Norte High boys tennis team, the squad lost a close contest to Northcoast Prep, falling 5-4. The loss puts the Warriors at 7-4 for the year, while Northcoast improved to 9-4.

In No 1. player action, Blake Polidore of Del Norte lost to Mack Madonick 6-3, 7-5.

David Standring defeated Jan Van Alten of Northcoast 6-3, 6-4.

Ben Tell of Del Norte lost a tight match to Justin Prall-Preston 6-2, 3-6, 7-5.

In the No 4. players match, Tyler Pitman of Del Norte defeated Tim McIlraith 6-2, 6-1.

Joel Bruhns lost to Caleb McIlraith of Northcoast 6-3, 6-4.

Alex Chou of Del Norte lost to Sterling Johnson-Brown 6-4, 6-3.

In doubles play, Polidore and Standring fell to Madonick and Van Alten 8-4. Tell and Pitman defeated Prall-Preston and T. McIlraith 8-5, while Bruhns and Chou won their doubles match against Johnson-Brown and C. McIlraith.

The Warriors finish the year on Saturday at the H-DNC Doubles Championships.
