Tsunami Sirens home opener set for Feb. 18

The Tsunami Sirens’ roller derby season opener, “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly,” is Feb. 18 at 5 p.m. in the main building of the Del Norte County Fairgrounds.

First, some local men will be among the competitors as the Deep Valley Belligerents of Ukiah compete against NorCal Men’s Derby of Redding.

Then, the women take the floor as the Sirens take on Mendo Mayhem of Ukiah.

This is an all-ages event. Tickets will be necessary as last year’s bout sold out fast. They are available for $15 at Del Norte Office Supply, 240 I St.; Hot Rollers Salon 700 Northcrest Dr.; Main Street Skate, 656 Chetco Ave., Brookings; or go online at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/221235.

Tickets don’t guarantee a seat in the bleachers, so spectators are encouraged to get there early to snag one.
