WR Hoffman has two touchdowns for BYU |
Cody Hoffman had another outstanding game for Brigham Young University on Saturday. Hoffman, a 2009 Del Norte High graduate, had two touchdown grabs and 71 yards receiving on five catches in the Cougars’ 56-3 win against Idaho State at home. Hoffman caught 7- and 19-yard touchdown catches. This followed a career-best game in front of a large group of Crescent City fans at Oregon State University the previous Saturday. In that game, Hoffman had nine catches for 162 yards and a touchdown. For the year, he has 491 yards receiving and four touchdowns to go with 513 kick return yards and a 93-yard touchdown on a return. Saturday was the 14th-straight game Hoffman has caught at least one pass for the Cougars. BYU improved to 6-2 for the year and has a five-game winning streak. “It’s a big turnaround coming off those two hard losses,” said Hoffman in an Associated Press story. “Now we’re finally building up the momentum and being able to make plays and put points on the board.” On Friday, the Cougars will play at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, facing TCU, which is 5-2 for the season. The game will be shown live on ESPN and on the internet on ESPN 3 at 5 p.m. PDT. |
