Warrior grapplers take part in Santa Rosa event |
The Del Norte High had three wrestlers place at the Maria Carrillo Tournament in Santa Rosa on Saturday. Senior Noah Timoshenko, who just made the starting lineup at 122 pounds, took eighth overall in his weight class. Senior Morgen Fischer at 128 and senior heavyweight Isaac Terry both suffered knee injuries at the event. They both finished in sixth place despite the injuries, assistant coach Clinton Schaad said. Fischer was expected back Wednesday night and Terry is expected be out at least a week, Schaad said on Tuesday. Senior wrestler Andrew Napier was also injured Saturday. On Wednesday night, the Warriors competed in their last Humboldt-Del Norte Conference matches of the season against fellow undefeated HDN team Eureka on the road. They also faced South Fork and St. Bernard’s. The results were not available by press deadline and will be in the Saturday edition of the Triplicate.
