Varsity edges out Brookings; JV team sweeps rival

Finally getting a chance to take the field Monday after several rainouts, the Warriors won the first game 11-6 and led 7-2 in the second game until Brookings came back with 5 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. The game was then called on account of darkness.
Pitcher Chandler Davis went the distance for Del Norte in the first game, striking out nine batters.
On offense, shortstop Keirstyn Anderson hit two doubles, catcher
Amber Babbitt contributed a couple of hits and centerfielder Kathryn
Gustafson had a 3-run double during a game in which she “smashed the
ball,” said coach Tom Moore.

offensive onslaught as the Warriors scored 7 runs in the first inning.
Camryn Ridgley pitched all four innings of the game for Del Norte.
Playing in Crescent City on Monday, the JV softball team swept a double-header from Brookings, 12-0 and 29-3.
The Warriors’ next game, weather-permitting, will be at home against Illinois Valley on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
