Warriors have good showing in Oregon

The Del Norte High track and field team took first for the girls and second for the boys at a track meet at Brookings-Harbor.

The girls finished in the top spot on Tuesday with a total team score of  85, while the boys were second with a team score of 50.

Top finishers for the Warrior girls included Jennifer Goacher, who took first place in the 200- and 400-meter-runs and third in the high jump.

Morgan Laney placed first in the shot put and Zara Gastineau came in first in the  triple jump and third in the high jump.


 

Amber Miller took second in the 1,500 and 3,000 meter races.

Katelynn Rowe was second in the 100-meter dash and in the  long jump. Tatjana Boeckle was second in the high jump.

For the boys, Brice Royal earned first place finishes in the 100- and 400 meter dashes.

Gabe Bradley took first place in the 800-meter dash and Mark Standring was first in the triple jump.

Delton Alexandre came in third in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles and the pole vault. Adam Rodriguez was second in the pole vault.

Today, Del Norte is competing at the pre-county finals meet in McKinleyville.

The event begins at 2 p..m.
