Warriors have two wrestlers place in Oregon

The Del Norte High wrestling team had two wrestlers place in the varsity portion of a tournament in Grants Pass, Ore., on Saturday. Senior Isaac Terry continued to wrestle well to start the season, taking second in the elite event which featured 32 teams. Senior Austin Moore, who is new to the wrestling team this year, had a good performance at 220 pounds, taking 6th overall. The event began Friday and concluded Saturday. Sophomore Hawk Mattz at 152 and senior Lakey Coney at 170 also did well and were only a match away from placing, assistant coach Clinton Schaad said. In the junior varsity bracket Vincent Dutton went 3-0 his first day and finished 4-2 overall. David Plechaty finished 5-1 overall at 195 as did Andrew Naiper and Eric Turner at 170. |
