Warriors volleyball team competes at tourney

The Del Norte high varsity volleyball team went 2-2-1 at a tournament in the Coos Bay, Ore., area on Saturday, They won their first game against Newport 25-19 and 25-20. In their second game against North Bend, they lost 25-21 and won 27-26. They proceeded to down Brookings-Harbor 25-13 and 25-11. They then lost to Creswell 12-25 and 19-25. In the final game of the day the Warriors lost a close battle to Cottage Grove, 23-25 and 25-27. “Except for the match against Creswell the team played together very well,” head coach Robyn Parker said. “Their energy level was high and they were feeding off of each other’s energy and joy. This tournament was a great expression of their teamwork and compatibility.” |
