Warriors fall 6-3 in Humboldt-Del Norte Tournament title game, grab No. 10 seed in NCS
The No. 2 seeded Del Norte baseball team fell way behind early in the first ever Humboldt-Del Norte Baseball League Tournament championship game and couldn’t quite dig itself out of the hole, falling 6-3 to No. 3 Arcata in Arcata Ballpark on Saturday.
Bell places first in triple jump to lead Del Norte at Redwood Empire meet
The Del Norte track and field teams competed at the Redwood Empire Meet in Santa Rosa on Saturday, and nine Warriors qualified to move on to the North Coast Section Meet of Champions in Berkeley next Saturday in eight events.
The entire Castle Rock track and field team made the trip to Montgomery High School on Saturday in the Sharks’ inaugural season. Although none of the Castle Rock athletes advanced to the North Coast Section Meet of Champions Trials next week, the Sharks were pleased with the way the season ended up.

Warriors lose 2-0 in pitchers’ duel
Nobody hit the ball well in the first ever Humboldt-Del Norte Tournament championship game on Saturday at Arcata Sports Complex, but Fortuna knocked out a couple hits and that was all Huskies ace pitcher Hailey Dolcini needed as Del Norte lost 2-0.
26 Warriors are set to compete in 56 events in Santa Rosa on Saturday
The Del Norte track and field teams are taking a large load of athletes to the North Coast Section Redwood Empire meet on Saturday with 17 boys competing in 33 events and eight girls competing in 23 events.

Warriors start hot, cruise to 9-2 win over St. B’s in HDN semifinals
The Del Norte baseball team jumped ahead and never looked back in its 9-2 victory in the Humboldt-Del Norte Tournament semifinals against St. Bernard’s on Thursday at Arcata Ballpark.
With warming ocean temperatures and calming seas, the past week has provided some of the best ocean fishing of the season for anglers. Bottomfishing for rockfish and lingcod has reportedly been strong on both sides of the border. Meanwhile, salmon were reported showing up in Brookings late in the week.
