Del Norte’s JV showed a lot of promise but needs to focus on consistency moving forward

It was an up-and-down season for the Del Norte boys basketball team in 2015 as it went 12-7 with a 3-5 record in Humboldt-Del Norte Big 5 play.

“It was a good season overall. I thought we could have won more games, though,” said Del Norte junior varsity head coach Kevin Baxter. “Every game was a game that we could have won. There wasn’t a single game this year that we went in thinking that the other team was better than us. We had a chance to beat every team if we came out to play. Obviously some games we just didn’t have it, though.”

The boys tennis team will be the first to jump into action when it hosts St. Bernard’s on Saturday, scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

The tennis team has a brand new coach this year as Jim Holt takes over the reins.

Warrior Memories: Richardson shined on diamond and court

Bill was not real big, so he was able to play lightweight basketball all four years, making the all league team in his sophomore, junior and senior years.
