Proceeds from concert to benefit Del Norte High music

Jessie Goergen, a Brookings native who is making her first country music album in Nashville, will headline a special concert benefitting the Del Norte High School music program.

Goergen performs Friday at the Del Norte County Fair. The concert will be preceded by a tri tip barbecue dinner for those who purchased their tickets in advance.

“This is new territory for the booster club,” said Dan Sedgwick, Del Norte High’s music director. “She’s kind of like a superstar now because of what she’s doing in Nashville, making herself known across the country.”

Goergen is currently working on a six-song EP with country star Gretchen Wilson.
