 Miller Terrill Sampels was born May 3, 2015, at Sutter Coast Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and measured 21½ inches. Miller’s parents are TR and Sara Sampels, of Fort Dick. He joins siblings Sylas and Sammy Sampels. Miller’s grandparents are Rob and Kara Miller, of Smith River; Donna Briggs, of Hiouchi, and Terry Sampels, who is deceased. His greatgrandparents are Bob and Alice Miller, of Gasquet.

1980 Reunion

Del Norte High School class of 1980 is looking for classmates to share in the 35th reunion at Tomasini’s Enoteca on July 11.

 Fish on the line? The only thing a kayaker needs to do is hang on and enjoy the ride 

Just beyond the cast of shore-bound fishermen and just inside the area where motorized boats ply their efforts is an area of practically untouched prime fishing. Along our rocky Crescent City coastline we are privileged to be able to access productive fishing areas very easily from a kayak. Every year I see more and more people enter the fishery.
