Who to blame is being disputed

The Yurok Tribal Police has a budget of at least $420,000 a year (usually much more), eight employed officers, a department building in Klamath and several patrol cars, and yet, if someone makes a 911 call for service in Klamath, they will most likely wait at least 20 minutes for a Del Norte Sheriff Deputy to arrive from Crescent City.
The under-utilization of the Yurok Tribe Police department stems from a disagreement between the tribe and Sheriff Dean Wilson that has been ongoing for nearly four years.
