As the city approaches the anniversary of last year's tsunami the North Coast Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is conducting a workshop for emergency preparedness.
The workshop will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the SBDC office at 225 H St.
The workshop will focus on emergency preparedness from two perspectives: To protecting employees as required by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CalOSHA) and protecting the community after such an event.
Statistics by the Institute for Business and Home Safety indicates that 25 percent of business that suffer a disaster never reopen.
To register call the SBDC at 464-2168, space is limited. For more information about the workshop call Environment, Health, Safety and Homeland Security/REBRAC at 269-4007.
