The Crescent City Harbor may soon host a new barbecue take-out eatery.

David Fournier aims to remodel the former dive shop next to the empty Captain's Table on Marine Way and open the restaurant business by July 4.

At a Tuesday meeting, harbor district commissioners approved a two-year lease with Fournier, who can operate rent-free for his first month, then pay a $300 per month minimum.

Fournier submitted a plan to the harbor with little details, but it notes goals for the restaurant to hold three tables and serve pork, chicken and potato salad. Fournier hired a cook from Elk Valley Casino and expects revenue to total up to $1,600 each day.
