A friend of de Solenni's, Heather Holt, pictured at right, waited with others along South Beach holding an American flag.

andquot;The war seems so far away,andquot; Holt said as she awaited the motorcade carrying de Solenni's body. andquot;Our lives are so normal until something like this happens and your life is just shattered.andquot;

de Solenni was killed in an explosion in Afghanistan on Sept. 20. A rosary will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 319 E. Main St. His funeral will be held at the same location at 10 a.m. Saturday. The public is invited to both events.
