Katherine Gurney of Crescent City was recently awarded for logging 50 hours in the American Quarter Horse Association's Riding Program.

The AQHA encourages horseback riding as a recreational activity and rewards its members for time spent with their horses in activities ranging from pleasure driving and working cattle to trail riding. Official hours logged must be accrued with registered American Quarter horses.

Awards are presented from the 50 to 5,000-hour levels, and range from gift certificates to Montana Silversmith products.
