Businesses can mentor a local student this school year

archive_import

Chamber of Commerce-Crescent City-Del Norte County asks businesses that would like to mentor a student apprentice for the fall to contact 464-3174.

Del Norte Unified School District will employ for all the apprentices, handle all Workers' Comp and payroll processing expenses.

Participating businesses will donate about $260/month to the school district to cover eight hours of minimum wage per week. It's a tax-deductible donation.

Presently, more students want to apprentice than businesses exist to help them. The Chamber has participated in the program since it began, and has successfully mentored several Del Norte High Students.
