State and National Parks holds programs this weekend

Redwood National and State Parks will offer free events in coming days.

Today, junior rangers can take part in andquot;Life on a Nurse Logandquot; at 10 a.m. at Prairie Creek Visitor Center. At 3 p.m., they can join andquot;Water Wondersandquot; at Mill Creek Campground or andquot;Are We Bear Yet?andquot; at Jedediah Smith Campground.

Nature walks include andquot;Brown Bag at Big Treeandquot; at 1:30 p.m. at the Big Tree parking area. At 2 p.m., andquot;Seeds and Sproutsandquot; starts at Lady Bird Johnson Grove trail and andquot;Life Cycle in the Ancient Forestandquot; begins at Nickerson Ranch trail on Howland Hill Road. At 3 p.m., andquot;Seen One Redwood, You've Seen 'Em All ... Or Have You?andquot; starts at Big Tree parking area.

Campfire programs at 8:30 p.m. include andquot;Birds of a Featherandquot; at Elk Prairie Campground, andquot;Wonders in the Watershedandquot; at Mill Creek Campground and andquot;The Bear Necessitiesandquot; at Jedediah Smith Campground.

On Saturday, junior rangers can join andquot;Seeds and Sproutsandquot; at 10 a.m. at the Prairie Creek Visitor Center and andquot;Amazing Adaptationsandquot; at 3 p.m. at the Jedediah Smith Campground.

The Mill Creek Watershed will stay open for exploration from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. off of Hamilton Road.

Nature walks at 10 a.m. include andquot;Ranches, Roosevelt, and Redwoodsandquot; at Prairie Creek Visitor Center and andquot;Owls and Old Growthandquot; at Simpson-Reed Grove.

At 2 p.m., andquot;Wind and Fire: The Lifecycle of the Redwood Forestandquot; will meet at Lady Bird Johnson Grove trail and andquot;Stomping in Stout Groveandquot; will start at the Stout Grove parking area.

Campfire programs at 8:30 p.m. include andquot;Bearing It Allandquot; at Elk Prairie Campground and andquot;The Olympians of Redwoodandquot; at Jedediah Smith Campground.

On Sunday, junior rangers can join andquot;Plant Detectiveandquot; at 10 a.m. at the Prairie Creek Visitor Center.

The Mill Creek Watershed will stay open for explorers from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Nature walks include andquot;Seen One Redwood, You've Seen Em' All ? Or Have You?andquot; at 10 a.m. at Big Tree parking area.

At 1 p.m., andquot;Amphibians and Reptiles of Tolowa Dunesandquot; will run at Tolowa Dunes State Park.

At 1:30 p.m., andquot;Fabulous Fernsandquot; will meet at Fern Canyon trail.

At 2 p.m., andquot;Old-Growth Forests: What they are and Why are they Important?andquot; will start at Lady Bird Johnson Grove trail and andquot;It's A Small Worldandquot; will meet at Simpson-Reed Grove.

The campfire program andquot;Don't Make a Banana Slug Split!andquot; will start at 8:30 p.m. at Elk Prairie Campground.

On Monday, junior rangers can join andquot;Millipede Madness and Other Incredible Invertebratesandquot; at 10 a.m. at the Prairie Creek Visitor Center.

Nature walks include andquot;Redwood Reactionsandquot; at 11 a.m. at Prairie Creek Visitor Center. At 2 p.m., andquot;Lady Bird's Legacyandquot; starts at Lady Bird Johnson trailhead and andquot;Treasures of Timeandquot; begins at Stout Grove parking area.

On Tuesday, junior rangers can join andquot;Critters of Mill Creekandquot; at 10:30 a.m. at Mill Creek Campground.

Nature walks include andquot;The Redwood Hotelandquot; at the Lady Bird Johnson Grove trailhead and andquot;The Secret Lives of Treesandquot; at Stout Grove parking area.

Campfire programs at 8:30 p.m. include andquot;Giants of Redwood National and State Parksandquot; at Elk Prairie Campground and andquot;All is Not As it Appears: the Coastal Connectionandquot; at Mill Creek Campground.

On Wednesday, junior rangers can join andquot;So You Want to be a Biologistandquot; at 10 a.m. at Prairie Creek Visitor Center and andquot;Marvelous Mammalsandquot; at 3 p.m. at Jedediah Smith Campground.

Nature walks at 2 p.m. include andquot;Majesty and Mysteryandquot; at 2 p.m. at the Lady Bird Johnson Grove trailhead and andquot;The Redwood Forest Familyandquot; at Simpson-Reed Grove.

Campfire programs at 8:30 p.m. include andquot;There is a Fungus Among Us!andquot; at Elk Prairie Campground and andquot;Mammal Mysteriesandquot; at Jedediah Smith Campground.

On Thursday, junior rangers can join andquot;Seeds and Sproutsandquot; at 10 a.m. at Prairie Creek Visitor Center and andquot;Cubs in the Creekandquot; at 3 p.m. at Mill Creek Campground.

Nature walks include andquot;Brown Bag at Big Treeandquot; at 1:30 p.m. at Big Tree parking area.

At 2 p.m., andquot;Putting it in Perspectiveandquot; starts at the Lady Bird Johnson Grove trailhead and andquot;Wanted Dead or Aliveandquot; begins at Simpson-Reed Grove.
