Outdoor programs held today and Friday

Redwood National and State Parks has scheduled outdoor programs for today and Friday.

Junior rangers can take part in andquot;Seeds and Sproutsandquot; at 10 a.m. today at the Prairie Creek Visitor Center.

Nature walks include andquot;Brown Bag at Big Treeandquot; at 1:30 p.m. at the Big Tree parking area. andquot;Old Growth Forests: What are they and why are they important?andquot; starts at 2 p.m. at Lady Bird Johnson Grove. andquot;Wanted: Dead or Aliveandquot; also starts at 2 p.m. at Simpson-Reed Grove.

Today's campfire program is andquot;Measuring Marvelous Marine Mammalsandquot; at 8:30 p.m. at Elk Prairie campground.

On Friday, junior rangers can take part in andquot;On Top of a Nurse Logandquot; at 10 a.m. at Prairie Creek Visitor Center.

At 3 p.m., andquot;Water Wondersandquot; will take place at Mill Creek Campground and andquot;Are We Bear Yet?andquot; will start at Jedediah Smith Campground.

Nature walks include andquot;Seeds and Sproutsandquot; at 2 p.m. at the Lady Bird Johnson trail and the pet-friendly andquot;Canines, Canopies and Cal Barrelandquot; at Cal Barrel Road.

Campfire programs at 8:30 p.m. include andquot;Birds of a Featherandquot; at Elk Prairie Campground, andquot;Wonders of the Watershedandquot; at Mill Creek Campground and andquot;The Bear Necessitiesandquot; at Jedediah Smith Campground.
