Guests attending this year's Active Living Expo at Ship Ashore Resort will be leaving with bellies full.

From 9 to 11 a.m., the Brookings and Crescent City Dutch Bros. will provide free coffee.

The traditional continental breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. at Food Avenue, located in front of the Multipurpose Room. The breakfast is provided by Lincare medical support of Brookings.

Be sure to try the blackberry muffins, made by Glen's Bakery and Restaurant. Fresh fruit and orange juice also will be available, providing a healthy start to the day.

If the breakfast and coffee doesn't fill up attendees, from 10 to 10:30 a.m., and 2 to 2:30 p.m. On Your Feet Shoes will sponsor two cake walks.

A $2 barbecue lunch will be served by Sutter Coast employees from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the menu includes deluxe burgers, grilled chicken breast sandwiches, veggies and drinks.

The Smith River Kiwanis are the cooks behind the cuisine. The barbecue is sponsored by Sutter Coast Hospital, Sutter Coast Health Center at Brookings Harbor and Sutter Coast Home Health.

The only problem is figuring out how to leave enough room in your belly for all the food offered after the barbecue. After the second cake walk, there will be wine and cheese tasting in the upstairs lounge of the Ship Ashore Restaurant.

The wine and cheese tasting starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 5 p.m. The event is sponsored by Barron's Home Furnishings of Brookings. Rumiano Cheese will be offering their mouth-watering cheese for sampling with a variety of Salmon Creek wines. The $3 tickets for the wine and cheese tasting will be available all day at The Daily Triplicate/Curry Coastal Pilot booth, located in the Multipurpose Room.

Besides the breakfast, lunch, wine and cheese tasting and both cake walks, food samples will also be available for patrons throughout the day. The Bandon Kettle Korn crew will also be providing samples of their delectable popcorn confections.

If guests want a different setting and more food choices, the Ship Ashore Restaurant will be providing full-service all day long. The restaurant will open at 7 a.m. for breakfast and will close at 9 p.m.

There will be specials available all day at the restaurant. Specials will include the Expo Express breakfast, the Crab Dandy, crab-melt sandwich for lunch, fresh grilled snapper, prime rib and the Ship's Flat Iron Steak with grilled onions and mushrooms.

The lounge will be open from noon to midnight.
