Penalties might increase for certain moving traffic violations if the Del Norte County Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution Tuesday. The additional funds generated from the hike in fines would then go into a fund to help compensate emergency medical service providers. According to the resolution, specific penalties would increase $2 for every $10 collected. Those extra monies would then be place in a fund to help alleviate the financial burden on emergency medical departments that are not always reimbursed for their services. The board will decide whether or not to approve the resolution at their 10 a.m. meeting in the Flynn Administration Center, located at 981 H Street, Room 100.
