Gala celebration held for DNACA anniversary

The Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness is celebrating its 25th anniversary of arts programs for the community with a fundraising gala April 28.

andquot;Doubloons for DNACA: Pirate Party andamp; Auctionandquot; will feature lively local acts, tapas (Spanish style hors d'oeuvres), sangria, a no host wine bar, and a silent auction.

Auction items include original paintings by local artists Rick Bennett, Bonnie Swart and Buzz Stewart, a lap quilt by Linda Yuvan, a unique assemblage by Steve Mattson, a tile garden mural by Rika Blue, gold earrings by Eileen Peterson, a seagrass basket by Jean Johnston, photographs by Betty and Larry Depee, tickets to the Britt Festival and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and a night at Our Cabin at the River, among several others.

The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Elk Valley Rancheria Community Room, 2332 Howland Hill Road.

Tickets are $25 through April 27, and $30 at the door. Advance tickets are available at Del Norte Office Supply, from DNACA board members, or by mailing a check to DNACA, P.O. Box 1480, Crescent City, CA 95531.
