Art Scene: Area orchestra offers city spring concert

The Curry/Del Norte Orchestra will present its Crescent City spring concert beginning at 3 p.m. April 29 in the Elk Valley Rancheria Community Room. Featured will be a trumpet trio of Greg Clark, Dean Mickelson and Jerry Darbyshire performing andquot;Bugler's Holidayandquot; by Leroy Anderson, and tenor Cy Vandermeer singing andquot;Bring Him Homeandquot; from Les Miserables. Additional concerts will be held at 8 p.m. on April 28 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Gold Beach, and at 7:30 p.m. on April 30 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookings. Tickets run $5 for adults, and students K-12 are free. The orchestra is sponsored by the Curry/Del Norte Orchestra Guild and Southwestern Oregon Community College.
