As predicted a day earlier, the rock slide that's been active between Gasquet and Hiouchi along U.S. 199 moved again during the night.

andquot;It brought approximately 300 cubic yards of material at about 4 o'clock this morning,andquot; California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) spokeswoman Ann Marie Jones said Tuesday.

Four hours after the slide began moving, traffic was restricted to one direction of travel at milepost 8.5 to enable the crews to work. Shortly after 11 a.m., both lanes of traffic were open.

andquot;This one brought more trees and more rocks down,andquot; said California Highway Patrol Sgt. Bill Fletcher. andquot;When there's more rain, there's more erosion.andquot;

The milepost is about 2.5 miles south of Hardscrabble Creek Bridge and about 1.5 miles north of South Fork Road.

The crews will remain at the site andquot;depending on the slide activity,andquot; according to Jones.

Six people cleaned and monitoring the slide.

No drivers reported rock-related damage to their vehicles.
