The Crescent City Commission will allow Renner Petroleum to extend its lease for five years.
Commissioners approved the lease on Tuesday.
The commission formed a committee, however, to work on another lease issue, Harbor RV Anchorage.
Also at the meeting, Harbormaster Richard Young reported that:
?Work crews are finishing docks for installation in the outer basin. andquot;Because we are short of slips in the inner basin, we are investigating purchasing additional flotation material to repair some of the outer basin docks, andquot; he said.
He plans to install more docks this year than in the past two years to accommodate the overflow from the harbor's inner basin.
?Work is going forward on door for Fashion Blacksmith, but work crews are waiting for the weather to improve so they can pour the cement track the doors will roll on.
?Rural Human Services helped clean up the harbor. andquot; They have provided us with a number of dumpsters that we have used to clean up our storage yards, andquot; he said.
Crews have hauled seven 40-cubic yard dumpsters out of the main storage yard and six 40-cubic yard dumpsters out of the storage area across from Fashion Blacksmith. The work, he said, has made a andquot;significantandquot; difference.
An RHS paint crew is also busy at the harbor, painting buoys around the parking lot, the dolos (wave-breaking concrete tetrapod) and buoy near U.S. Hwy. 101, and the anchors and bollards (mooring rope posts) in the parking area.
andquot;Their help is very much appreciated in improving the appearance of the harbor, andquot; Young said.
