The Del Norte County Solid Waste Management Authority board of commissioners has changed its meeting schedule.
At a February meeting, the board agreed to meet the second Wednesday of each month at 3:15 p.m. in the board of supervisors chambers in the Flynn Center at 981 H St.
The board had been meeting the first Thursday of each month, a time that conflicted with some board members' schedules. The board's next meeting will take place on March 14.
The authority board includes two city council members, two Del Norte County Board of Supervisor members and one public member.
A citizens advisory solid waste task force, with about a dozen members, also meets each month. The group has lately been discussing illegal dumping leaving garbage and furniture in public areas, for instance, as well as blight cases. Possible solutions could include mandating trash pick-up service in residential areas.
The next task force meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. March 6 in the conference room at the authority's transfer station on Elk Valley Road.
