Any doubt surrounding the death of a parolee inside an elderly woman's house is now gone.
andquot;It's clearly a homicide,andquot; said Del Norte County Sheriff and Coroner Dean Wilson. andquot;Now it's just a matter of determining the cause of death.andquot;
Authorities have not released the man's name, however, until they notify next of kin.
Still, an autopsy will be performed either today or Friday to verify cause of death.
The 42-year-old man was found inside of Inez Rehfeld's house in Pacific Terrace Manor, an elderly neighborhood located off of U.S. Hwy. 101 behind Shooters Billiards. He was Rehfeld's roommate, but specifics about their relationship are unclear.
The Crescent City Police Department is still investigating the incident.

A man who lives in Rehfeld's neighborhood said that he spoke with her son-in-law about the incident. He said there were puncture wounds in the dead man, andquot;Jim's,andquot; neck and side.
The neighbor also said andquot;Jimandquot; told him he was a parolee from San Quentin State Prison in Marin County.
