Deputies continued to search Thursday night for a Crescent City woman who has been missing since Sunday and is presumed dead.

The Del Norte County Sheriff's Office received a call saying that Taryn L. Taylor, 41, was dead and that her body was dumped on an abandoned couch on the Green Diamond Resource Company's property. When law enforcement searched the area where the body was supposedly left, they did not find Taylor or the couch, which was buried on the Green Diamond property by clean-up crews.

andquot;Right now, we're basically trying to validate their story,andquot; Del Norte County Sheriff Dean Wilson said. andquot;We have someone's verbal saying she was dead, but these people aren't exactly doctors.andquot;

Wilson said he could not say whether there was foul play involved - or if Taylor was dead for that matter - but he did note she was andquot;missing under suspicious circumstances.andquot;

The Department of Justice searched the vehicle that supposedly transported Taylor's body to search for any clues.

andquot;At this point in time we have some evidence,andquot; Wilson said, andquot;but we won't know any more until we find Taryn.andquot;

Once her body is found, forensic evidence can be matched to Taylor's remains.

andquot;It's like a fingerprint; we have it, but we can't do anything with it until we have something to compare it to,andquot; Wilson added.

Taylor is white, 5-foot-10 inches tall, 140 pounds with a light build. She had blonde hair and blue eyes.
