The Crescent City man who fell into the Smith River Jan. 5 is still

missing after divers failed to find his body over the weekend.

Law enforcement officials unsuccessfully searched the area where

Chester Bolen's boat was found by two fisherman on Friday. They used

side-scan sonar and divers in an effort locate Bolen.

On Monday, search and rescue crews used a California Highway Patrol

helicopter from Redding to scan the river for Bolen.

They plan to continue searching for Bolen's body in the river and

along the beaches. If no one finds him in the next couple days,

search crews will again fly overhead in the helicopter, a sheriff's

department official said.

Bolen, 39, fell into the river while fishing.
