Six Oregon residents were arrested in Del Norte County Monday night for allegedly planning a robbery.

The four males and two females were charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy and attempting to commit a crime.

Arrested were Matthew Kay Wardle, 18, Robert Adair Kelly, 20, Shane Stephen Whitson, 21, David Manning Koger, 23, Amber Moss, 18, and Tosha Rich, 18, all of Grants Pass, Ore. Bail was set at $50,000 for each person. Whitson was also charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.

According to Commander Tony Luis of the Del Norte County Sheriff's Department, the group was allegedly overheard discussing plans to rob the Gasquet Market while standing outside the store. People in the store then reportedly locked the doors and called 911.

Store owner Judson Brohmer, who was out of town when the incident occurred, said one of the group was in the store earlier that evening and was acting suspiciously.

The group was apprehended by sheriff's deputies and the California Highway Patrol while heading southbound in their vehicle on Highway 101 between Hiouchi and Crescent City, according to Luis.

District Attorney Robert Drossel said his office is reviewing the case. Arraignment for the individuals is expected sometime today at the Del Norte County courthouse.
