On March 3, The Home Depot held a Kids Workshop in which 88 children built race cars from kits. They raced them on two tracks built by Cetnar Construction. The race times were averaged to determine first-, second- and third-place winners. Trevor Brock (above, pictured with store manager Alex Campbell) took the first-place trophy, with Miya Zosel (top right) taking second and Payton Bearden (lower right) taking third place. Trophies were supplied by Bob Hauff and presented to the winners March 10. In conjunction with the workshop and racing, 24 local car enthusiasts brought their cars to The Home Depot to show off their vehicles. The Crescent City Home Depot holds a Kids Workshop on the first Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to noon. The workshop is free to all kids 5 to 12 years of age.
