LRT gala is Saturday night

Lighthouse Repertory Theatre (LRT) presents its sixth annual gala celebration, "Las Vegas Tonight!" on Saturday at Lucky 7 Casino's Tolowa Event Center. The evening includes a social hour, buffet dinner and original musical revue, featuring favorite LRT performers.

Pure Prairie League coming

The Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness presents its fifth

and final performance of the season - country rock pioneer Pure Prairie

League - at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 20, in Crescent Elk Auditorium.

In 1972, PPL's second album Bustin' Out (RCA Records) went

multi-platinum with the hits "Falling In and Out of Love," and "Amie."

The band has a rich 42-year history, from its Ohio beginning as a group

of friends playing cover tunes to the present-day foursome featuring

founding member/pedal-steel innovator John David Call, veteran bassist

Mike Reilly, drummer Rich Schell and lead guitarist Donnie Lee Clark.

Harbor Gallery activities

Crescent Harbor Gallery's artist of the month is Sharon Tanner, who

had never painted prior to retiring from nursing. Now she works

primarily in acrylic, and a sampling of her work is on display

throughout May along with pieces by other gallery members.

Randall Tillery will give an oil painting demonstration beginning at

noon Thursday, May 24, preceded by a potluck, at the gallery.

"Creative Mondays" are being held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday

Dance concert May 17-19

Del Norte High School Dance will present its annual spring dance

concert, "Whispers in the Dark," at 7 p.m. May 17-19 in Crescent Elk

'Grease' opens May 18

Brookings Harbor Community Theater's production of the musical

"Grease" opens with an ice cream social before the show on May 18, and

runs for three weekends in the Harbor Performing Arts Center.

Performances will be held at 7:30 pm May 18, 19, 25, 26 and June 2.

Sunday matinees will start at 2 p.m. May 20, 27, and June 3. An

understudy performance will be held on Friday, June 1, at 7:30 p.m.

Ticket prices range from $7 to $10 and can be purchased at Wright's

Pistol River concert May 19

The Pistol River Concert Association presents root and blues stylist

Ray Bonneville at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 19, in the Pistol River

'Pirates' auditions May 22-23

Brookings Harbor Community Theater will be holding auditions for the

musical "Lady Pirates of Captain Bree" at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and

Wednesday, May 22-23, in the Performing Arts Center. Teens and adults

are needed.

'Gold Dust or Bust' on May 24

Uncharted Shores Academy is presenting "Gold Dust or Bust," a musical

about the California Gold Rush, at 7:15 p.m. May 24 in Crescent Elk
