Authorities spent two days combing the county this week to ensure registered sex offenders were in compliance with laws.
The Del Norte County Sheriff's Office and Humboldt County authorities contacted 62 registered offenders Wednesday and Thursday to ensure their addresses were correct and they were not violating any other terms, said sheriff's Commander Tim Athey.
They made one arrest for a violation and five other people are currently under investigation, Athey said.

transients, so authorities actually track their location by taking down
the encampments they are sleeping at and then check to make sure the
information is accurate, Athey said.
Sweeps are conducted randomly throughout the year for the more than
100 offenders registered in the county, Athey said.
