Church Notebook: Vacation Bible Schools rolling throughout July

Triplicate Staff

What a beautiful day we had for the Fourth!

I think I was actually a bit surprised, because it seems like the last few years, the Fourths were cold and overcast. Bright sun and clear night skies that presented the fireworks clearly were certainly welcome. And since my church is close to the park, we had a ringside seat for the display following a great potluck.

The holidays are finished now until Labor Day. With the kids out of school, folks will be taking vacations, leaving town on various trips. And other folks will be coming into town - coming back to visit friends and family, or perhaps coming to see our beautiful redwoods and ocean. Let's make them welcome as they visit our businesses and our churches, because that's what will encourage them to return.

Some will be looking for a church to attend while they are here,

maybe just for a Sunday (or Saturday) or perhaps for a week or two. Our

church directory shows them the available choices in regard to

denomination, and this column shows them any special activities we have

going, so be sure to let me know what you are doing. Who knows? Perhaps

this visit might be one from folks contemplating a move here, and

looking to see if they can find a church that "fits."

andbull; There is news of a program later this month a bit south of
