Redwood National and State Parks will host a unique family evening program in park campgrounds this week.

Rangeelay Theatre Ensemble, as part of a national parks tour, will present IN'Tents, a fun and educational family show. Through hilarious misadventures, park ranger "Patricia Pinky" and first time camper "Chipotle" learn how to camp, take care of, and enjoy their natural spaces. The show is full of Chaplinesque physical comedy and is suitable for all ages.

This free program is open to the public and will play in the campground amphitheaters at 8:30 p.m. on the following nights and locations within Redwood National and State Parks:

Tonight and Thursday: Elk Prairie Campground, Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park.

Wednesday: Mill Creek Campground, Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park.

Friday: Jedediah Smith Campground, Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park.

The members of Rangeelay Theatre Ensemble received their training at

Dell'Arte International, a world-renowned local school of physical

theatre in Blue Lake, Calif. They are an international team of

theater-makers who have created original theatre across the globe, from

India to Afghanistan to Bali. They strive to address social and

ecological themes through vivacious humor and physical play.

The first iteration of IN'Tents was created and performed in India in

2010 for thousands of streetchildren, pediatric cancer patients,

students, and teachers in collaboration with non-governmental

organizations such as Cancer Patients Aid Association, India World

Vision, and Salaam Baalak Trust, among others.

IN'Tents is made possible by funding from the Puffin Foundation LTD

and private donations and is presented in coordination with the Redwood

National and State Parks.

Questions about this special program or any of the parks' summer

interpretive programs, may be directed to supervisory park rangers Jeff

Denny at 707-465-7760 or Debbie Savage at 707-465-7390.
