Harbor Gallery activities
The gallery's artist of the month for August is Crescent City's Betty Belitz, who says "art is a way of life. It's on the inside, and it will bubble up whether we make room for it or not."
A sampling of her work is currently on display, along with pieces by other gallery members. "Creative Mondays" continue to be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday.
Fortuna-based artist John Hewitt, a signature member in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, will give a free painting demonstration at noon Aug. 23, preceded by a potluck.
Immediately following the demo, Hewitt will give a three-hour watercolor workshop, which costs $20. On Aug. 24 and 25, he will also give two additional plein air (outdoors) watercolor workshops; cost is $40 each. For more information, visit 140 Marine Way, or call 464-9133.
