Walmart donates to blight fight

Triplicate Staff

Walmart has become the first corporate sponsor for Supervisor Roger Gitlin's Take a Bite Out of Blight program.

Walmart has contributed $1,500 to Our Daily Bread Ministries and Jordan Recovery Groups, which will help elderly and disabled homeowners, whose properties may have been cited by Del Norte County code enforcement, according to a press release from Gitlin.

The program will work with county code enforcement to identify properties and help bring them back up to code, according to the press release. Our Daily Bread Ministries and Jordan Recovery Groups will provide the labor. Take a Bite Out of Blight is expected to start May 1.
