There are still a few days left to mail in a community survey intended to be used to improve the overall health of Del Norte County.
Participation in the anonymous, 20-minute Community Health and Wellness survey also offers the chance to enter a raffle for up to $250 and other cash prizes.
The survey, funded by the California Endowment as part of the Building Healthy Communities Initiative, will be used by local communities, planners and policy makers to improve the overall health of the region.
As of Wednesday, 11 percent of the 14,242 surveys mailed to households in Del Norte and adjacent tribal lands had been received.
"It is important to get a high number of surveys returned as this will give us a more accurate picture of the issues impacting health and wellness in the area, " said Jessica VanArsdale, director of health research at California Center for Rural Policy, which is conducting the study.
If you have misplaced your survey and would like to be mailed another, contact California Center for Rural Policy at 707-826-3400 and leave a message with your mailing address. Surveys should be mailed back by May 30.
