A local man was arrested after allegedly accosting people at an RV park in Klamath on Sunday.

David L. Echols, 68, attempted to attack two people with a knife at Camp Marigold Garden Cottages and RV Park off U.S. Highway 101, said Del Norte County Sheriff Dean Wilson.

The sheriff's SWAT Team eventually responded after Echols went back into his trailer and refused to come out, said Wilson.

After about two hours of face-to-face negotiations, Echols surrendered, Wilson said.

Echols was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, making criminal threats and exhibiting a deadly weapon.
