A dinner party, a soup supper, a fun run, a photography exhibit and even free surfing lessons are among the diverse offerings this weekend in Del Norte.
The Coast Redwoods Art Association will hold a reception and awards ceremony from 6andndash;8 p.m. at Crescent Harbor Gallery, 140 Marine Way. The show, featuring the works of more than 50 local and regional artists, will be on display at the gallery through Oct. 31. Music will be provided by Ken Krogstad. Refreshments will be served. Soup Supper and Country Auction:
4-H's annual dinner will be served from 5andndash;7 p.m., auction starts at 6:30 p.m., at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds Main Building. Cost is $7 for adults, $4 for ages 6andndash;12 and free for kids 5 and under accompanied by an adult. Menu includes soup, bread, veggies and desserts. Live and silent auctions. Habitat For Humanity House Party Dinner and Auction:
The fun starts at 5:30 p.m., at the Cultural Center, 1001 Front St. Tickets are $40. Call Carol Mathews at 464-4262. Catered by Northwoods Restaurant.
Run for the Seals:
A 5k fun run/walk, presented by the Northcoast Marine Mammal Center, will start at 9 a.m., with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m., at the center, 424 Howe Drive. The run is open to all ages and ability levels.The course will remain open until every participant has finished. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female runners. Free surfing lessons:
