Doctor is Lebanon-bound
As most of my patients already know, soon I will be leaving my practice in Crescent City to pursue an opportunity in my home country of Lebanon. My decision to depart after more than four years of practice in Del Norte County was difficult, but my new job will allow me to spend more time with my family, especially my young children.
I would especially like to thank Sutter Health for all of the support that I have received from both the local hospital and the larger organization. I came here only because they recruited me aggressively and at significant expense. Additionally, over the past years, they have spent tens of thousands of dollars on new equipment and additional training for me, which has allowed me to expand services and bring new procedures to the women of the area.
I have worked in a number of other hospitals around the country, and I have found that Sutter treats physicians better than virtually any other place I have practiced.
I am proud of our obstetrics and gynecology service at Sutter Coast Hospital, and feel that we practice at the highest standards. There are certainly services that we are unable to provide here, simply due to our small size, but for the things that we are about to do, we are as good as any hospital anywhere, large or small.
As a gesture of how much I care about Sutter Coast and this community, I have recruited a personal friend of mine, Dr. Nabil Elkhoury, to take over my practice after I leave. I know that he will provide the same level of compassion and expertise that you have all come to expect.
I will miss my colleagues and friends here in Crescent City. Come and visit me in Lebanon!

Disc golf lauded
I recently stopped in Crescent City on a road trip and was surprised to find a disc golf course located near your harbor.
A local took me through nine holes and we had a great time, playing until it was nearly dark out. It was one of the highlights of my trip!
Thank you Crescent City, and thank you to that local, you definitely buoyed the spirits of a weary traveler. It was a great course too - the next time I come down to California I'll have to plan a special detour and get the other 18 holes in.
