'Excellent' event

I want to thank the people at the Del Norte Health Center for the excellent event they put on for the Bi-National Health. Groups like County Champions for Change and Wild Rivers' people had tables. There was one table that had a diabetes education person. As someone who has diabetes, I found this table interesting.

I would hope in the future more groups would join in events like this. It was nice to see the Wonder Bus at this event. I had to smile when I saw a child smile when she was given a toothbrush.

Spaghetti feed a success

The Northwest Trail Riders would like to thank the community for such a great turnout for our first spaghetti feed fundraiser that was held Oct. 6. Funds generated will be used to keep club insurance paid and for horse camp maintenance and repair, and also for our continued goal for our community to keep our trails open for all to enjoy.

We want to thank those of you who baked, cooked, cleaned up or just bought a ticket. We appreciate all the helpers! Thank you.

A special thank-you goes out to our sponsors:

Grange #577, Ocean Air Farms, California Auto Image, Safeway, Ace Hardware, Shopsmart, Mor Jon, Kathy Walker, Northwoods, Marlene Fletcher, Java Hut, Shirley Baldwin, Crescent Hay and Feed, Helen Brown, Don Marcum, Sam Frick, Joe's Chevron, Baxter's Auto Parts, Fisherman's Restaurant and Two Guys.

In addition, thanks to Norm Davis who played his guitar and sang for our entertainment at the spaghetti feed.

Please let these merchants know how much we appreciate them by stopping by when you can.
