A day of bird-watching on the coast from Crescent City to the mouth of the Smith River is planned for Saturday, Dec. 7.
Participants should meet at 8 a.m. at the public restroom off of Anchor Way at the south end of the harbor.
The cost is $45 per person, and is limited to a maximum of 10, so make advance reservations at fowleropebirding.com . Dress for weather, bring a lunch and drinking water.
This is the first in a new series of full- and half-day tours organized by Fowlerope Birding Tours, owned and operated by Humboldt County birder, Rob Fowler.
The tour will include Crescent City Harbor, Point St. George, Lakes Earl and Talowa, the Smith River Bottoms (especially the Alexandre Dairy), the town of Smith River, and the mouth of the Smith River.
