Wishes came true

On Dec. 20, the Pine Grove Elementary School community was blessed to receive an amazing gift from the employees at Pelican Bay State Prison. More accurately, we were blessed to receive over 87 gifts!

The PBSP employees made sure that every kindergarten and first-grade student received something that was on their Christmas wish list. It brought such joy to the students and their families. One boy kept on hugging his new bicycle. Many children exclaimed, "This is just what I wanted! How did Santa know?"

Thank you for making our students' Christmas dreams come true. You certainly went "above and beyond" and it made such a difference in their lives.

Generous gesture

I would just like to send out a Very Merry Christmas and God Bless to the Good Samaritan(s) that so generously paid off a number of layaways at WalMart.

Thanks for 22 years' support

To all the customers of Ray's Food Place in Smith River and the Crescent City Shop Smart, I would like to say thank you for your nearly 22 years of continued support and loyalty.

I will miss the friendships, smiles and laughs.

Fundraiser a success

The Del Norte High School JV and Varsity softball teams would like to thank everyone who made it out to our First Annual Drive-Thru Christmas Fundraiser.

Thank you to our community for your support with everything and special thanks to the Del Norte County Fairgrounds, Hemmingsen Construction, KPOD, KCRE, Lions Club, North Woods Realty, and the Horner, Bohannon, Cowen, and Bergquist families. Without the people who donated their resources, time and money, we would not have been able to make this happen.

This fundraiser far exceeded our expectations and we look forward to expanding it more and more every year. The money made during this fundraiser will be going toward equipment, tournaments and the traveling expenses throughout the season.

We also have other fundraisers coming up soon, including banner sales, car washes, team dinners, and we will be hosting a softball clinic for kids.

For more information you can contact us at DNHS Softball on Facebook. Thank you all so much for everything, we hope you enjoyed the lights and hope to see you out there next year.
