The North Coast Small Business Development Center is offering two new free business "flights" for those interested in careers in food service or tourism.
Each class starts Saturday and runs through April, meeting the second Saturday of each month beginning at 10 a.m. at 225 H St. Graduation will be held April 28.
The Food Service Flight will provide information on learning how to start your own business in areas such as caterer, food truck or cart, small restaurant or farmers market vendor, or advancing your existing goals.
Those interested in adventure-related businesses such as kayaking, guided tours, harbor tours, surfing lessons, yurt rentals and bicycling can sign up for the Niche Tourism Flight.
Areas covered in both classes include rural marketing, social media and organizational techniques, bookkeeping, regulations and liabilities and goal-setting. Participants will also have the chance to talk with others who have successfully started their businesses.
