Acrylic tour of ‘Tropical Tranquility’

Moody paintings up through March 13

Brookings artist Tom Moody is showing 18 paintings at the Del Norte County Courthouse through March 13.

His show is titled "Tropical Tranquility," which includes a variety of subjects in his artwork, which are mostly done in acrylics.

Moody earned his right to present a one-man show after winning first place at the 22nd annual Juried Multimedia Exhibition sponsored by Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness.

This is the second time Moody has won the competition, the first time being three years ago. That show was titled "Inspired Imaginations" and consisted of 15 pieces.

Moody has been painting for 20 years. He began painting when he lived in Escondido, Calif. He moved to Brookings 16 years ago and has been active in the arts community, including being a member of the Pelican Bay Arts Association.

"I enjoy painting and I enjoy living in Brookings." Moody said.

The courthouse at 450 H St. is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. For more information about the show, call DNACA at (707) 464-1336.
